I took this picture with my camera, paper, annd Christmas lights. I really like how the images came out when I attempted to capture them.

I took this photograph during class with the help from my Instructor and Misty Morris. I was very pleased at how this image turned out. My Instructor helped me get the image right while Misty held a white board to even the light of that cae from the flash. I was very happy to have both of them working with me.

I took this photograph with my dad in my bedroom a fee weeks ago. We cut out all of the light coming into my room making it completely dark. We took many shots and this is my favorite by far.

I took this picture of Texas High students during Spirit week. Taking pictures of random peoplewas a little out of my comfort zone, but I feel better about doing so now. I was very pleased at how this image turned out, and love that the girls in this picture like the photograph.

I took this image outside of my house one day. My parents made me upset/mad so I took my camera outside to hopefully get a reqlly good image. I was so happy when I saw the histogram was perfect.

I took this photograph of Tyler in the Math and Science building. This was taken on a day where we just went out and played around with our camera taking images.

This photo was taken at my Uncles house one day. I looked over and saw the lighting on the sing/side of the house was really pretty and wanted to capture that moment, and that is exactly what I did.

I took this picture at the tennis court at Texas High. This was taken on a day where I went out and messed around with my camera, I was very very pleased at this photograph.

This was taken outside of my house one evening. I cut out the ambient and used my on camera flash to capture this. I love the color of the leaves and tree, which is why I chose this image.

I took this image on my way home one day when it was raining. I wanted to capture the rain on the windshield so i went for it. After I caught this I tried to catch the windsheild wippers, which did not go so well.

I took these photos in the Math and Science building of Texas High as students were coming back from lunch. I stayed to the side of the corridor and took pictures as students were passing me. I know some of these are not that great, but these are the photos I have. I will be putting the settings on here some other time.

I took these pictures in my bedroom after school. I used a camera, tripod, flease blanket, small lights, and a wine glass. I shut out all of the light near my bedroom along with my bedroom light and used a blanket to block out the ligt coming from my window. I pinned the flease blanket over my dresser and had it draped over my dresser, then place the glass on top of the blanket. I set the camera up on the tripod and postioned the tripod to where the glass would be in the middle of the image. I closed my door and had my dad help me with the lights that show up in the images. I focused the camera on the glass then took the picture, my dad and I worked together and took turns painting with light. A few of these image are what we created together and the others are what I was able to create. I know they aren't perfect, but I am very pleased with how they turned out. My dad and I bonded by trying to accomplish my assignment. 

Painting With Light Change

I am deciding to change my Painting With Light image because I have not gotten the correct shot of the original and no longer have the people that were going to be in the pictures. I was going to use my parents, but now my mom is back at work and will not have the time to help. I would use my sister in the spot of my mom, but she refuses to participate and doesn't understand that her face will not be in the photograph.

I took these photos of Misty Morris in the Math and Science building at Texas High. I set the ISO to 100 and slowed the shutter speed down to 1/10 of a second and had Misty walk across the floor as I took a picture of her, following her as she moved so she would stay in focus and the background blurred. These are just a few of the ones I took, the best one I did is the very first picture on this blog entry.

For this blog I have no photograph, I'm just saying what I have learned on how to Paint With Light. I have practiced trying to paint with light and I still haven't done what I needed to get accomished, but I'm learning different techniques on hiw to do so. For the longest of times I just thought I needed to cut out ambient lighting and slow down the shutter speed, but come to find out that isn't all I have to do. After failing so many times and not getting anything close to what I need to get I got on pinterest hoping to find some tips, which helped a lot. I do now realize that I have to change the aperature. I've learned that the lower the ISO, the better and the higher the aperature, the better. I have also been thinking about the photograph I originally picked and feel like I should change it to a more simple image, both images will be hard to do but I believe that I don't need to challenge myself to that extent even though doing so would make me a better photographer in the long run.

I have not drawn out my plans I will have to recreate this photograph, mainly because I have not yet decided how I am going to have everything set up for this particular image. In this recreation I know I will need a camera, tripod, a flashlight, and possibly a stepping stool. I am not really sure how I will accomplish what I need to accomplish to get this image, but I know that I will try my best to get everything the way it needs to be so I can be proud of myself and make people fall in love with my images. My Instructor has challenged not only me, but the rest of his rookies, to recreate a image where we have to paint with light. The photograph in this blog is the image my Instructor and I have decided to have me recreate. I know this is going to be really hard for me to do, either way its a win-win for me. I will either get it right, or will fail miserably but learn from doing so. I'm both nervous and excited to see how this turns out for me.

I took these photographs in AV mode on the Canon Rebel I borrowed from my Commercial Photography class. I turned off all of the lights in my house and turned on our Christmas trees lights so that there was only one light source that wouldn't be bothered by anything else. I traced the size of my lens on a black piece of paper and added three 1-inch legs to different sides of the circle. I then cut out a small heart, no bigger than a dime, and used a rubber band to secure the paper around the lens. I set my camera on Manual Focus so I could control how big or small the hearts will be. After, I sat on the ground in front of the tree and took several pictures. I took some from laying the camera on the table, making sure the settings were right, and took some from that angle. I chose these two out of all the photographs I took because I felt they were possibly the best two out of the batch.
