These pictures were taken at Texas High School during my photography class. They are not my best, and I know I can do better.. I go out almost every day and I find out what my weaknesses are in photography. I am trying to become better, and I know that with the people I have in my lifeI can become a better photographer..

These images were also taken at Farren Road Baptist church on Sunday morning/evening. We gathered there for morning service, fellowship, and the Ordination of Daniel Larey. The first image was taken right after morning service, I like how this image came together.. The second image is of Nick messing around while a guest speaker was "preaching", I don't really know why I decided to take this picture, I guess I thought it would be interesting for people to see what some kids do when they get bored during church. The third image was taken during the Ordination ceremony. As family members and parts of the church were praying over Daniel Larey. The final image on this blog is of Denny hugging Aunt Ruby's neck. This image is a special image. Aunt Ruby had been very sick and it took everyone by surprise when she walked through those doors. I know the images I took of her, and took while people were hugging her neck will be images people will love and remember for a long time. I am happy with how these images turned out. If I didn't decide to bring my camera to church, none of these images would exist..I know there are some things that I could have done better at, but over all the images turned out looking really nice.

These photographs were taken at Farren Road Baptist church on Sunday morning/evening. The first photograph is of Daniel Larey and his son Zeke. I took this one of them after morning service while they were walking into the fellowships hall to join everyone and eat as a church family. The second image is of Justin and his son Braxton. This photo was taken while everyone was eating. I love how that photo came out to be, the only thing I would want to be changed is how the cup covers up part of Braxton's face. The last photo on here is of Nick, I honestly forgot when I took this photo of him. It might be a little over exposed, but I really like this image. I really like the pictures I took Sunday of my church family during service and fellowship.

The first three images on this blog were taken in Shreveport at the beginning of Spring Break. My parents wanted to take a trip down to Shreveport to stay the night in Sams Town. We were walking around the Boardwalk looking around, while they were looking around I was taking pictures at every opportunity that I had. I took a TON of pictures that day, and a few more on the next day. Although I took many pictures, half of them turned out to having sun spots on parts of the image. I didn't realize that some of them had them on, but the ones that I did realize I didn't fix them because I was not thinking of the correct way to fix it by blocking the light on the camera with my hand, I was thinking that if I changed the settings the image would then be correct. I should have known how to fix it because the solution was an easy fix, but I was not that bight... In the last image on this blog, I took it at my school during class. I wanted to go out and try and get more images and hopefully get an amazing one but I don't think that worked out that well. I am trying to become a person that will see something and know if it would make a good picture, great picture, or an amazing picture. I really want my work to be something people can look at and fall in love with. I know with the help of my Instructor, Clint Smith, I can become one of those people. He has helped me so much within one school year. I hate the fact that school is almost over because I won't have him as my Instructor anymore. I hope that after graduation he will still let me ask him questions about photography and that my work will make him proud of me. There will be more photos to come on architecture and soon, thematic.

March 17, 2015

I've started taking architecture pictures and I know that what I have can be done better so I am going to try and go make them better. This is my first time doing architecture photographs and I surprisingly like doing them. Although I get confused at times on which will count as architecture and on what wouldn't count, but I still take the picture. I can, and will get better at taking these types of pictures. I want to become the best that I can be, knowing that you can ALWAYS get better.

I'm not really 100% sure on how to take the thematic pictures, but I will come up with ways to make the image look believable and capture something great. I will be using one of my friend's sister as my child for the images. The categories I chose are; Afraid of the dark, Ghosts, and Dolls. Because I live in the woods and my friend lives on a circle drive, I will be trying to find out a way to incorporate the surroundings into the images.

I will attach a photo to this blog sometime in the near future. :)

To take these pictures, I set up the black fleece blanket over my dresser and shut out all lighting that was coming in my room. I borrowed my sister's beaded necklaces that she got at Mardi Gras and a feathered crown and placed them onto the blanket. What I did next was simple, focused the camera on the necklaces, switched it to manual focus, and shut the lights off. After slowing the shutter speed down, I clicked the button for the picture to be taken and messed with my LED flashlight. Just have fun and see what you get!!
